Consumer Products and Services
Classified customer products for U.S. and Canadian importation, qualified products for NAFTA, prepared exhibit for Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) disclosures required for post-acquisition reconciliation.
Reviewed 52,000+ products for Antidumping (ADD) and Countervailing (CVD), identified customs entries where ADD/CVD was not paid, prepared exhibit and calculated loss of revenue for a CBP disclosure.

Oil and Gas Service Company
Expanded existing U.S.-centric import and export operation by developing global policies, procedures and training to support the company’s global strategy.
Private Equity Firm
Pursuant to an acquisition, built global trade compliance operations and provided ongoing operational support for three newly formed companies exporting to/from 150+ countries in less than 30 days. Helped client develop a long-term trade compliance staffing strategy.
Conducted County of Origin analysis, Buy America Act (BAA) and Trade Agreements Act (TAA) qualification for Department of Justice disclosure and created disclosure exhibits. Developed Country of Origin policy and procedure and trained company personnel.
Medical Device Company
Reviewed five-year period of export transactions for unlicensed shipments to embargoed countries, created disclosure exhibits for Office of Foreign Assets and Control (OFAC) and BIS disclosures, created export license policy and procedures, trained personnel and applied for and obtained export licenses for exports to Iran and Syria. Provided Export Compliance Officer services while establishing a U.S. and German trade compliance operation. Trained new director of compliance. Provided periodic import and export audits.
Annually assessed the company’s Importer Self-Assessment (ISA) program and created the company’s Annual Notification Letter (ANL) to CBP.
Fabless Semiconductor Company
Existing customer learned that IT had selected and was implementing a Global Trade Management (GTM) solution one week before user acceptance testing. The customer wanted us to define the business requirements needed for a successful GTM solution, while ensuring the implementation ran smoothly and did not impact customer operations. Developed and executed a project plan which met the “go-live” date and ultimately satisfied the long-term business requirements.
High Tech Manufacturer
Established global trade management strategy in collaboration with compliance staff. Executed projects in support of the global strategy such as audits, executive communications, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Schedule B and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) classification, documentation and training.
Semiconductor Manufacturer and Supplier
Trained the client’s supply chain, including Warehouse, Operations, Customer Service, Sales, Trade Compliance and Finance on correct application and best practice recommendations of the company mandated INCOterms.
High Tech Manufacturer
Acted as Global Import and Export Compliance Officer. Conducted a five-year U.S. export audit, created a disclosure exhibit detailing violations in support of BIS and Census disclosures required prior to IPO. Classified customer’s hardware, software and technology, including encryption technology. Developed Export Management and Compliance Program (EMCP), policies and procedures. Developed Automated Export System (AES) and Electronic Export Information (EEI) procedures. Conducted restricted party screening and resolution. Audited import activity, identified material and non-material issues, developed Broker Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and implemented a Post Entry Amendment (PEA) process.
Optical Communications Manufacturer
Acted as Global Import and Export Compliance Officer. Established trade compliance strategy and program roadmap. Conducted license determination, obtained and maintained export and technology transfer licenses and permits under BIS, Australia’s Defense Export Control’s Agency, China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), Germany’s Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) and Malaysia’s Strategic Trade Act. Filed BIS Simplified Network Application Process (SNAP) applications.
Logistics and Transportation Services Company
Updated Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) supply chain security program and prepared the company for validation. The company was successful in their validation which resulted in no areas for improvement.
Provided ECCN classification and deemed export determination for hardware, software and technology projects. Created product matrix.
